"Let me be your chivalrous Prince,
your true love, your knight in shining armour.
Whatever your fantasy, I will fulfill.
Together, we can direct the world to its rebirth.
Let me lead you to Eternity."

I will start by stating I was coerced into making this costume by a good friend of mine and her hilarious stick figure art. I am not a fan of the Utena anime, as while it's stylish and artsy it's also quite often nonsensical and morally bankrupt, but I've always loved the manga, and especially the character of Touga.

The hardest part of this endeavour, believe it or not, was finding a red rose to attach on the jacket, as somehow red wasn't in vogue in my local craft stores in June last year. The rest was quite straight-forward: white high-waited pants for that unrealistically long-legged look, a simple school uniform jacket (I reused the pattern I had made for Yuber) and a few accessories. The wig and its crazy bangs was dyed to be two-toned like in the show, although it does not show too well on photos because in person I didn't want the contrast to be too striking.

I made a sword of Dios for this costume, but it got crushed in transit to the convention (thank you airline luggage handlers!) and hence is not in any photo. I'm quite sad about it. Perhaps I will repair it eventually for a new round of photos.
